Débaufré Watches Identity
Débaufré Watches Identity
Role: Illustration & Design
Florida based Swiss watch maker Steinhart Watches approached me to develop a logo for a new series of high end swiss watches, their 2007 Debaufre Collection. They came with a loose vision of a coat of arms with our solar system and some rubies. I went to work on developing the concept from the ground up from initial sketches to a finished identity working with Steinhart step by step. The finished design was developed with enough detail to remain interesting when enlarged but a tight enough design to still be readable when scaled down. Look for the new logo in 2007 as Steinhart once again reminds everyone how a high quality time piece should look and feel.
Press Release From
Steinhart Watches:
“In the morning hues of 2007, another collection will awaken. The Debaufre Collection by Steinhart Watches will rise from history and reignite a forgotten heritage, in essence the genesis of modern watch making.
An introduction long overdue; a collection of beauty and timelessness, of two-tones and hexagons, of skeletons and octagons; prepare for the wonders of Debaufre. The Debaufre heritage dates back to 1704 when two brothers revolutionized watch making by being the first to incorporate Rubies into their watch movements, something so evolutionary this practice is still in use today with most mechanical watches. They went on to produce a series of enhancements in the manufacturing of movements, and created the first frictional rest watch escapement.”
